General Rules:
Demolition derbies are dangerous, and Rouse Promotions assumes no liability in the result of injury from competing in this event. Rules are constructed for driver's safety. Drivers participate at there own risk.
The cars are to be constructed according to the rules. If certain items are not specified, it doesn't mean it is legal. The judge's decision will be final, so call before you do something that you don't understand.
All cars must be on grounds one-hour before event to be inspected. Any cars arriving late will not be eligible to compete unless prior arrangements have been made. All cars must be removed immediately after the show or they will become the property of the local salvage yard.
The driver must be at least 18 years old to drive at all fairs, unless the fair board allows younger drivers. You must be able to prove age upon request to drive, or have a notarized document signed by a parent or guardian stating that parents assume all risks. No one under the age of 14 will be able to compete at any fair unless approved by fair board. Call first.
Approved racing helmets must be worn at all times. Goggles or a face shield, fire suit or long sleeve shirt must be worn. Long pants and closed toe shoes are mandatory. No shorts allowed. If a driver removes his/her helmet while the event is taking place they will forfeit all winnings and be disqualified for the night.
Any unsportsman like conduct by the driver or the crew will cause your car to be disqualified and forfeit of any winnings. The judge's decision will be final.
No liquor or intoxicating beverages allowed in pit area. Possession of alcohol or drugs in pits will result in disqualification of your car.
Drivers meeting will be held before the event is to start to explain rules and flags. Any car protest must be made at this time. All drivers must attend, attendance will be taken. If a driver misses for any reason, there car will be disqualified. All drivers meetings will be held 30 min. before start time.
A driver that is disqualified in the heat race for sandbagging or a intentional door hit, will not be allowed to compete anymore that evening. Heat race time limits and sandbagging marks will be used.
The purpose of the derby is to provide entertainment for the spectators. Anyone not complying with the rules will be barred from the event.
It is mandatory for everyone entering into the pits to purchase a pit pass.
If a car is found illegal, no entries will be refunded. Cars should be brought legal. Not having a set of rules is not our fault. The fair board or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any entries. Cars will be subject to inspection after event.
The driver is the only person allowed to drive the car at the venue. The driver is the only person allowed around the car while their car is being inspected. Cars will be disqualified if rule is not followed.
No welding on a car at the show.
2011 Driver Conduct Rules:
Drivers must have car thru tech before drivers meeting.
Drivers must be present at the drivers meeting.
Drivers must obey all Rouse Promotions rules and Fair Board or Racetrack safety rules.
No alcohol may be consumed at any event.
All drivers must wear a minimum of DOT approved helmet, safety glasses, long pants, and long sleeve shirts. All of this must be worn at all times on the track.
Drivers are to remain in there cars until the event is stopped.
Drivers may start the event facing any direction. Depending on track size cars may be told they cannot make a full track shot at the drop of the green flag, this is for safety reasons.
Drivers that are still in an event may not exit their car under red flag. If your feet touch the dirt, you are out. (Unless there is a safety issue)
Drivers must stop under red flag conditions. Any driver making an intentional hit after the red flag will be disqualified.
Any driver making a full track shot to the driver’s side of the car, no part of your bumper may touch the driver’s door during the hit.
No driver’s door hits.
Intentional rollovers will not be tolerated. If you hit a car and it rolls over, that is legal. If you get a car up in the air and push him across the track to roll him over, you will be disqualified for the event. If you get a car in the air, stop the drive the opposite direction to get the car off. If call rolls over during this, you will not be disqualified.
Drivers must make an aggressive hit every 30 seconds. Cars that have stalled will be given 1 min. to get their car refired and make contact.
To quit an event you must break your stick. If you wave a guy off from hitting you, or you reach up like your breaking your stick, YOU ARE OUT. Break it off! (If you don’t WE WILL!)
Any driver making an intentional hit on a car with a broke stick will be disqualified.
No team driving. Team driving is holding and hitting. If you are setting against a car and pull away at the very last second, that is also considered team driving.
The car to make the last hit is the winner. NO PIN TO WIN! If 2 cars get hung on the last hit, we will separate the cars 1 time.
No fighting anywhere on the property where the event is held at. You will go to jail and be bared for the season.
No profanity or obscene gestures. (Kids are everywhere be an adult!)
You are in charge of your crewmembers, even if you are on the track. If they break any safety or procedure rules, you will be disqualified. This includes throwing of objects towards the track.
If you are disqualified from an event, you forfeit all winnings for the night.
Judges decision is final.
Modified Rules:
PREPARATION OF CAR: No trucks, vans, ambulances, jeeps, carry-alls, limousines, Hearse, 4-wheel drives, checker cabs, propane cars, 73 or older Chrysler imperials. No Chrysler bodies on imperial frames. 2003 and newer Fords must remain factory (drive line, rear end, and bumpers are the only things that can be changed). This includes the cradle. In 2011, there is to be no shortening of rear frame rails in any manner. In the matter of clipping cars, there is to be no MIX-MATCHING of frames. Ford to Ford. GM-to-GM ECT. No shortening of cars. Cars are to be constructed according to rules. If you are caught intentionally pinning, plating, capping, or loading frame or body, YOU WILL NOT RUN! Judges decision is FINAL.
FRAMES:
There is to be NO painting of frames. If you are painting a frame you are cheating and you won’t run.
ALL factory frame holes must remain OPEN
All cars may be pitched in the front or rear. There is to be NO metal added when pitching a car. Single bead of weld only. Anything else will not run.
The rear humps may be plated. The plate may be ¼ in. steel, maximum 22 inches in length from end to end, must be cut to contour of frame, placed in center of hump and this plate must be on the outside only. The rear arch plate must have no more curve than a crescent shape.
A 3x3 Washer may be welded over the CENTER of each body mount hole. TOP SIDE ONLY.
You may have a 5 inch long piece of angle welded to frame to set the cross member on if you like
All cars must use the factory core support mounts. There is to be no welding of angle iron or pipe to the side of the frame to mount your core support. This mount is considered a body mount. It can ONLY be strengthened with a 3x3 washer. Fords must run factory mounts.
You may have ball joint stops, but they must be bolted on only.
On 80-89 Ford’s, you may add the Factory gusset behind the crush box. This is the gusset that is found on 90 and newer cars. This gusset must be installed in the factory manner. When adding these gussets you MUST paint them WHITE.
No welding, plating, or pinning of frames. You may weld the top seam from the front of the A-Arms forward. NO OTHER FRAME SEAMS MAY BE WELDED.
You may repair a bent frame. You may only use 4 plates no larger than 4x6. Plates may be welded on all 4 sides. No more than 2 patches on any corner of the car. No part of the patch OR the weld may touch. 4 Patches MUST be painted white. You may reclip a bent car. When doing this, you may only use the butt weld method.
Rust damage may be repaired with the same size metal. No more than a 1-inch over lap. No patch may be larger than 4x6in.
You may run a home made cross member. Cross member must run from side to side with nothing extending towards the crush box or cowl area. Factory cross member bracket may be replaced with a 6in piece of angle iron. This must be welded at least 6in behind the crush box.
Drive Line:
Engines and transmissions may be interchanged.
Motor mounts may be welded, but no extra bracing to frame.
NO SKID PLATES. Oil pans and transmission pans may be strengthened.
Engine Mounting plates are legal, but they cannot connect to anything but the engine. They cannot reinforce the car in any way.
You may have 2 spots of wire or chain coming off front side of motor going to the engine cradle only
Radiators must remain in stock location. You cannot run extra radiators or water tanks.
Transmission and oil coolers are allowed.
Transmission/oil coolers and battery boxes cannot strengthen frame in anyway
Batteries must be moved. You can use 2 batteries, but they must be securely mounted in passenger side floorboard area. Batteries must be covered.
All fuel cells and fuel lines must be covered in area where they may become pinched or cut.
Any factory 5-lug axle rear end allowed. No 8-lug conversions. No changing of coil to leaf springs.
Tires: No studded tires. Valve stem protectors are OK. We do not want flats.

CAGES: Standard 4 point cage MAX.
A cage of no bigger than 4 in. pipe or 4x4 in. box tubing can be used. (Standard 4 Point Cage Only) 4in MAX! (This will be enforced in 2011).
The front 2 down legs can be welded to the topside of frame only (welded to the side rail only). These legs must be vertical and cannot have plates or gussets welded off of them going to the frame. They MAYNOT be welded to the front clip in any way.
Front bar of cage running under dash must be 6 in. behind front firewall. It cannot have kicker going to the firewall. There is to be nothing welded from the dash bar going to the firewall or butted to the firewall. Only 1 dash bar.
The cage may have an overhead bar or roll over bar. The roll bar must be straight up and down, no pitch towards rear of car. The down legs may be welded to the topside of the frame only. This bar must be within 6 inches of the doorpost. 2 door cars, 6in from the back of the drivers seat. (This will be measure with steel block).
Sidebars no longer than 4in. past dash or rear bar.
Drivers may add 1 down bar next to their seat or legs. This bar is for safety only. The bar can only connect to the driver’s door bar. It must be vertical and must be at least 12 in behind the front cage leg.
Protectors: In 2011 we will be using a steel 6in block to measure in between the dash bar and the firewall. Also from the gas tank protector to the rear firewall. Any part of the cage that prevents the block from passing thru will have to be cut. (Must be 6in at the top and bottom of bar). DP= Distributor ProtectorAny car running a DP in 2011 must have a 2x2in hole cut directly above or behind the protector so that the firewall can be inspected.
DP’s are legal in the follow manner. They can be no wider than the intake. They must be straight up and down only. DP’s may bolt to the engine ONLY!
DP’s can be butted to the firewall. (NO WELDING, BOLTING, OR ATTATCHING PROTECTORS TO THE FIRE WALL). Dash bar must be 6in behind firewall.
Protector cannot strengthen frame in anyway.
Cars running windshield bars may not be connected side to side. Bar may be welded no more than 6in from the topside of the dash sheet metal. Bars must be placed 6in to either side of the DP. 2 bars max. Bars may be no bigger than 1x1in. Straps may be no wider than 2in and 1/4in thick.
If you run a DP, you may not have anything running from the firewall to the dash bar. (No all-thread, bars, or any other solid material.)
You may run a gas tank protector in the following manner.
Gas tank Protector may not be any more than 36 inches wide.
Protector must be at least 6in from rear firewall. Do not beat firewall back.
Protector must be at least 3 inches off the floor.
The protector may not connect to anything other than the seat bar of the cage
BODY: cars must be stripped of all flammable materials. ALL SUN ROOFS MUST BE COVERED WITH METAL.
Doors may be welded solid, including the tops of doors. 3in strapping max.
Body mounts may be changed. Max bolt size 1in. Mounts cannot go thru the bottom side of the frame. Body mount washers cannot exceed 4x4. . Body bushings may be removed, but must use a 1in spacer in its place.
ROOF SIGNS ARE MANDITORY! They may be welded or bolted. Signs may not be any more than 24 in. long.
A 12 in. hole must be cut in hood above carburetor. Half hoods on car are OK. If no hood, no fan on motor. If fan blades become exposed, car is disqualified.
Hood is allowed 6 fasteners. Neither the hood nor any wires can be bent down in front of radiator. Hood Washers may be no more than 6x6.
Core Support may be bolted down with All thread 1 in. maximum may be ran thru core support next to radiator only, one on each side. They can go thru the hood.
No bolting or welding of body panels together, with the exception of fender wells. Fender wells may be bolted together using 4 bolts 5/16ths or smaller.
Rusty panels may be patched by using no more than 1in overlap. You must patch rust with the same thickness of metal, if thicker metal is used it will be cut off.
If car has been previously ran, we would allow you to repair body to keep it from falling off.
No internal bracing of body.
No interior seam welding on any body parts.
There can be no bars in the rear window
Car must have a safety strap in place of windshield. (refer back to Protector section)
Firewalls must be in original place with no extra metal or weld added. All holes must be covered to prevent hot fluids from entering the driver’s compartment.
TRUNKS:
A 12 in. hole must appear in trunk lid, not in the trunk floor. Tail light areas must remain open.
No wedged cars. (Unless it happens naturally during the derby) Trunks may be tucked.
Trunk lids can be welded solid with 3-inch wide strips 1/4 thick and cannot be overlapped. Strapping cannot be welded to rear window post.
Trunks may be "V'd" in the center but the back quarters must remain in the stock position. If you rip the rear post when V’ing the trunk, YOU CANNOT PATCH IT! If a car has a patch on the rear post, they will cut the entire patch and the entire weld off the post.
Speaker trays may be beat down or removed, but they may not be altered with weld.
You may have 1 piece of 1 inch all thread in the center of the trunk with max 3x3 washers. Tail light areas must remain open.
You may weld 2 straps from you trunk lid to the bumper. These straps may not exceed 3in. in width.
All creased cars will have to cut inspection holes in creases per judge’s decision. 1-3 per side depending on how the creases are made.
BUMPERS:
Any year car bumper and bumper brackets allowed on any car.
The bumper must be fastened with factory brackets no homemade brackets. Bumper brackets may be welded to the frame.
You cannot use rear brackets on the front of the car.
Bumpers can be welded solid to the frame. You may weld straps from the bumper to the frame on all 4 sides. Straps may only be welded to the first 2 in. of the frame.
Bumpers cannot be welded to the body.
Bumpers must have factory skin and factory backing.
You may load the inside of the bumper if you like. You can weld the bumper skin.
Maximum bumper height is 24 in. to bottom of bumper, minimum is 16 in. In 2011 this will be checked before the heats.
You may hard nose a bumper. You may stub the frame back to core support mount. Core support mounts may not be relocated. You may weld shock to the frame back to factory bolting spot. No welding past that point. Shocks may only be bolted in factory manner. No relocating bolts.
Bumper shocks may be replaced with square tube. Tube may be no longer than 8in.
Bumper shocks may not exit the side of the frame. The shock must be mounted inside the frame or in factory mounting bracket.
SUSPENSION:
All suspensions must have the ability to work in the factory manner.
You may bolt the front suspension solid with one 1/2 bolt per side. The head of the bold may be welded to the frame. No blocks or spacer may be butted into frame from lower a-arm.
No all thread for shocks.
Coil springs may be tack welded or wired to brackets.
Rear end protectors cannot come within 6 inches of frame.
On leaf spring cars, no more than 7 per side and no wider than 2-½ inches. No Flat springs. Factory Stagger. No leafs on top of main leaf. No leafs thicker than 1/4in.
Only 4 leaf clamps per side. These clamps can be no wider than 3 inches and leafs cannot be welded together.
You may modify or weld tie rod ends and control arms.
Sway bar may be modified, but cannot strengthen the frame. They must be bolted in factory area with factory mounting brackets. No welding of brackets to the frame.
Rear suspension must move.
Control arms may be strengthened.
If lower rear control arms are relocated to fit rear end, it must be done with the factory mounting bracket or a 3x5in or smaller plate.
Upper A-arms cannot be altered. No plating or reinforcing of the A-arm or mounting brackets.
2012 Rule Changes
All car must run the factory rear end mounting set-up. I.E. Watts cars must run the lower control arms on the outside of the frame.NO reclipping of fresh cars.

DP’s can be butted to the firewall. (NO WELDING, BOLTING, OR ATTATCHING PROTECTORS TO THE FIRE WALL). Dash bar must be 6in behind firewall.
Protector cannot strengthen frame in anyway.
Cars running windshield bars may not be connected side to side. Bar may be welded no more than 6in from the topside of the dash sheet metal. Bars must be placed 6in to either side of the DP. 2 bars max. Bars may be no bigger than 1x1in. Straps may be no wider than 2in and 1/4in thick.
If you run a DP, you may not have anything running from the firewall to the dash bar. (No all-thread, bars, or any other solid material.)
You may run a gas tank protector in the following manner.
Gas tank Protector may not be any more than 36 inches wide.
Protector must be at least 6in from rear firewall. Do not beat firewall back.
Protector must be at least 3 inches off the floor.
The protector may not connect to anything other than the seat bar of the cage
BODY: cars must be stripped of all flammable materials. ALL SUN ROOFS MUST BE COVERED WITH METAL.
Doors may be welded solid, including the tops of doors. 3in strapping max.
Body mounts may be changed. Max bolt size 1in. Mounts cannot go thru the bottom side of the frame. Body mount washers cannot exceed 4x4. . Body bushings may be removed, but must use a 1in spacer in its place.
ROOF SIGNS ARE MANDITORY! They may be welded or bolted. Signs may not be any more than 24 in. long.
A 12 in. hole must be cut in hood above carburetor. Half hoods on car are OK. If no hood, no fan on motor. If fan blades become exposed, car is disqualified.
Hood is allowed 6 fasteners. Neither the hood nor any wires can be bent down in front of radiator. Hood Washers may be no more than 6x6.
Core Support may be bolted down with All thread 1 in. maximum may be ran thru core support next to radiator only, one on each side. They can go thru the hood.
No bolting or welding of body panels together, with the exception of fender wells. Fender wells may be bolted together using 4 bolts 5/16ths or smaller.
Rusty panels may be patched by using no more than 1in overlap. You must patch rust with the same thickness of metal, if thicker metal is used it will be cut off.
If car has been previously ran, we would allow you to repair body to keep it from falling off.
No internal bracing of body.
No interior seam welding on any body parts.
There can be no bars in the rear window
Car must have a safety strap in place of windshield. (refer back to Protector section)
Firewalls must be in original place with no extra metal or weld added. All holes must be covered to prevent hot fluids from entering the driver’s compartment.
TRUNKS:
A 12 in. hole must appear in trunk lid, not in the trunk floor. Tail light areas must remain open.
No wedged cars. (Unless it happens naturally during the derby) Trunks may be tucked.
Trunk lids can be welded solid with 3-inch wide strips 1/4 thick and cannot be overlapped. Strapping cannot be welded to rear window post.
Trunks may be "V'd" in the center but the back quarters must remain in the stock position. If you rip the rear post when V’ing the trunk, YOU CANNOT PATCH IT! If a car has a patch on the rear post, they will cut the entire patch and the entire weld off the post.
Speaker trays may be beat down or removed, but they may not be altered with weld.
You may have 1 piece of 1 inch all thread in the center of the trunk with max 3x3 washers. Tail light areas must remain open.
You may weld 2 straps from you trunk lid to the bumper. These straps may not exceed 3in. in width.
All creased cars will have to cut inspection holes in creases per judge’s decision. 1-3 per side depending on how the creases are made.
BUMPERS:
Any year car bumper and bumper brackets allowed on any car.
The bumper must be fastened with factory brackets no homemade brackets. Bumper brackets may be welded to the frame.
You cannot use rear brackets on the front of the car.
Bumpers can be welded solid to the frame. You may weld straps from the bumper to the frame on all 4 sides. Straps may only be welded to the first 2 in. of the frame.
Bumpers cannot be welded to the body.
Bumpers must have factory skin and factory backing.
You may load the inside of the bumper if you like. You can weld the bumper skin.
Maximum bumper height is 24 in. to bottom of bumper, minimum is 16 in. In 2011 this will be checked before the heats.
You may hard nose a bumper. You may stub the frame back to core support mount. Core support mounts may not be relocated. You may weld shock to the frame back to factory bolting spot. No welding past that point. Shocks may only be bolted in factory manner. No relocating bolts.
Bumper shocks may be replaced with square tube. Tube may be no longer than 8in.
Bumper shocks may not exit the side of the frame. The shock must be mounted inside the frame or in factory mounting bracket.
SUSPENSION:
All suspensions must have the ability to work in the factory manner.
You may bolt the front suspension solid with one 1/2 bolt per side. The head of the bold may be welded to the frame. No blocks or spacer may be butted into frame from lower a-arm.
No all thread for shocks.
Coil springs may be tack welded or wired to brackets.
Rear end protectors cannot come within 6 inches of frame.
On leaf spring cars, no more than 7 per side and no wider than 2-½ inches. No Flat springs. Factory Stagger. No leafs on top of main leaf. No leafs thicker than 1/4in.
Only 4 leaf clamps per side. These clamps can be no wider than 3 inches and leafs cannot be welded together.
You may modify or weld tie rod ends and control arms.
Sway bar may be modified, but cannot strengthen the frame. They must be bolted in factory area with factory mounting brackets. No welding of brackets to the frame.
Rear suspension must move.
Control arms may be strengthened.
If lower rear control arms are relocated to fit rear end, it must be done with the factory mounting bracket or a 3x5in or smaller plate.
Upper A-arms cannot be altered. No plating or reinforcing of the A-arm or mounting brackets.
2012 Rule Changes
All car must run the factory rear end mounting set-up. I.E. Watts cars must run the lower control arms on the outside of the frame.NO reclipping of fresh cars.
